Tips on Using CBD

With so many products on the market, it can be hard to know where to begin when it comes to CBD. Here are a few helpful tips for getting started:

  1. Consult your doctor. The most important thing to keep in mind is to always consult your doctor or healthcare provider when it comes to introducing new supplements or products into your daily regimen. Keeping your doctor well informed will also help determine the best course of action to deal with various health concerns and can help predict any potential interactions with drugs you may be taking.

  2. Find your right product and dosage. It’s important to remember that everyone’s experience with CBD will be different. Some people may experience benefits from small dosages whereas you might need to take more to feel the desired effects. Different products such as sublingual tinctures, gummies, and topical oils all have different ways of being absorbed by the body. Topical applications are great for localized relief of sore muscles and joints whereas capsules go through the digestive system to be ultimately metabolized in the liver. Holding a CBD tincture under your tongue for a minute or two will allow for quicker absorption through mucous membranes under your tongue which allows CBD to bypass the digestive system and be metabolized faster. Knowing what you want to get out of your experience with CBD will help you greatly in determining which product is best for you.

  3. Use CBD to supplement, not replace. Like we mentioned before, CBD is not a drug. If your healthcare provider has prescribed medications or treatments, it’s never a good idea to change your routine without first consulting them. Which brings us back to our first tip: talk to your doctor! Ask them how you can start introducing CBD to your healthcare routine safely and effectively.

  4. Do your research. Since there are so many products are on the market, it’s important to find reputable companies that offer third party COAs on their product. These will show that the product contains the amount of CBD they’re claiming and that it also does not contain any detectable THC.

Managing Your Stress

April is National Stress Awareness Month. Stress is unfortunately an unavoidable part of life, so it’s essential to have an effective stress management plan to help recognize stressors and deal with resulting stress. There is no one-size fits all approach to managing stress, so it’s especially important to have a variety of tools at your disposal. Here are some different approaches to managing stress:

  • Eat healthy, get enough sleep, and exercise - Your body can deal with stress much better when it is healthy and properly fueled with the necessary nutrients it needs.

  • Breathing exercises - Take a step back from a stressful situation and take some deep breathes. Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth can help you visualize physically releasing the thing that is causing you stress.

  • Learn to say no - Your time is yours. Don’t feel the need to provide a reason for not doing anything, a simple no is more than sufficient. If you need a day to yourself, take it!

  • Talk to someone - Social support can be extremely beneficial at dealing with stress. Maybe all it takes is talking to a friend or family member, or maybe you make an appointment with a therapist. Simply vocalizing the issue can often provide a degree of relief.

The most important thing is that you have multiple ways of dealing with stress in your life. To provide an added boost to managing your stress, try Kanna Affects Stress or Bud’s Bounty CBD capsules. These can provide support to your body during times of stress and also support you on your journey of healthy living.

Emotional Wellness

October is Emotional Wellness Month. Often when we think about what it means to be healthy, we immediately go to our physical bodies and conjure images of healthy diets and plenty of exercise. While physical health is an important component to our well-being, emotional health plays a pretty big role too.

So what is emotional wellness? Being emotionally healthy doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re happy all the time, but instead that you accept your feelings for what they are. You can acknowledge emotions, thoughts, and feelings without altering or changing them and instead decide how to respond to them.

Negative emotions are a part of life and offer us valuable learning experience. Part of emotional wellness is embracing those feelings, learning from them, and moving forward with your life. Don’t let bumps in the road completely throw you off track. They’re there for a reason.

What makes emotional wellness so important? For starters, emotional health is a major part of your outlook on life. If you are emotionally well, you can view life more optimistically, meet challenges and recognize that something that challenges you is a good thing, and learn that setbacks aren’t the end of the world.

Remember that being healthy doesn’t just mean eating your fruits and veggies; there’s lot of different pieces that are all just as important when it comes to overall health.

Benefits of CBD
buds bounty september ad (with border).jpg

CBD is becoming more and more popular for a variety of reasons. Did you know that unlike THC (the psychoactive cannabinoid that contributes to the "high" feeling of consuming marijuna), CBD won't get you high? This make it a great alternative to people looking for the health benefits of marijuana, while wanting to avoid the mind-altering effects.

CBD has been used for:

• Pain relief
• Promoting a better night’s sleep
• Relieving stress
• Supporting mood
• Reducing inflammation

Check out our Bud's Bounty CBD products and try it for yourself. All of our CBD products are made using a 98% pure isolate derived from American-grown hemp. You can even check out our CBD's COA on each product's page to see the results for yourself.

September is Self-Care Awareness Month

What does self-care mean to you? While it can be expressed in a variety of ways, self-care is typically defined as simply being kind to yourself. We often feel guilty or even selfish about taking time for ourselves, but in reality if you aren't kind to yourself and supportive of your own needs, it will be almost impossible to be supportive of others.

Here are some ways you can incorporate self-care into your daily routine:

  • Get some sleep - We all know that groggy feeling that leaves us in a fog for the whole day if we don't get enough sleep. Sometimes it makes us moody or grumpy but consistently missing precious hours of sleep can lead to bigger, more serious health concerns down the road.
  • Do something that makes you feel good - Want to take a walk? Sit and read a book for an hour? Eat some dark chocolate? Do it. Do something that is just for you and leaves you feeling happy. Maybe you want to be alone in the quiet or surrounded by a group of friends. What's important is that you're left feeling better.
  • Stand up for yourself - This one may be a bit difficult for some of us, but it is so incredibly important that we know our self-worth. Don't let people walk all over you or push you into doing something you don't want to. Stand up for you, your needs, and what is best for your own mental well-being. Say no when you need to and don't feel guilty about it.
  • Exercise - Taking care of yourself physically can lead to all sorts of health benefits including emotional and psychological benefits as well. Any amount of exercise is better than none, so take the stairs more often, stretch during your lunch break, or take the dog for an extra long walk tonight.
  • Manage your stress - Find something that works for you to help dealing with stress. Meditation, yoga, keeping a journal, seeing a therapist, or maybe even a boxing class. Finding a healthy way to deal with the inevitable stresses of life can let you take control back of your life.
    • Kanna Affects Stress - Another way to help incorporate stress management into your daily routine is with Kanna Affects Stress. This all natural supplement contains a blend of herbs that work harmoniously together to help support your body during everyday stress

The most important thing to remember is that self-care is not a one time activity; it's ongoing. It isn't a luxury you treat yourself to every once in a while, it is an essential activity that needs to be incorporated into your weekly routine. Don't feel guilty for taking time for you!

5 Tips to Declutter Your Mind
clarity ad declutter.jpg

Is daily stress keeping you from being able to think clearly? Does your mind feel like it's constantly racing but you can't focus on anything in particular? If so, your mind may be in need of some clearing out. Mental clutter is what keeps us from being able to make clear decisions and focus, but decluttering your mind isn't as complicated as it sounds. Try these 5 tips to help get you in the habit of maintaining a clear head:

  1. Clean up your work space/home - Cleaning up your mind can be as easy as starting with your physical surroundings. Letting stuff accumulate around your desk or at home can unconsciously draw our mind's attention away from what we're doing and instead focus on the mess. Letting go of the things you don't need can free up more space for the things that matter, both mentally and physically.

  2. Make some time for yourself - Allow yourself to have the time to do something that is just for you, nobody else. Maybe what you need to do is take a walk alone in the woods with just the sounds of nature. Maybe you want to try taking a guided meditation class that focuses on breath work. Whatever it is, give yourself the gift of time to focus on your own mental and physical well being.
  3. Write it down - Trying to focus on 10 different ideas that are flying through your head is nearly impossible. Instead, try writing down your concerns, things you needs to do, goals, etc. Get them down on paper and off your mind. Now you won't have to worry about remembering 10 different tasks ahead of you this week and you can instead focus on accomplishing them one by one.
  4. Let go - If it doesn't serve you, let it go. Letting go seems like such a simple step but if can often be one of the most difficult. We form emotional attachments to different thoughts and ideas but learning to let them go if they aren't serving us or if they're the source of negative feelings can help free your mind for more positive thoughts and dreams.
  5. Kanna Affects Clarity - Sometimes your body may need a little bit of support from the inside out. Kanna Affects Clarity can help give your body a leg up in dealing with the daily stresses of life that can contribute to that mental cloudy feeling. Take 20% off Kanna Affects Clarity thru August.
